Recognized as the oldest known wind instrument in the world, the Australian Yidaki, or Didgeridoo, has evolved from relative obscurity into an increasingly popular and well respected instrument. Although many new models and styles have sprung up in recent years, the authentic hand carved and painted ceremonial Yidaki continues to be the most highly regarded and sought after design available. These are made from naturally hollowed branches and trunks of the Stringybark tree, or more commonly Eycalyptus, cut, shaved, sanded, and finished by hand in the old Aborigine traditions. The "pitch" is non-specific, the cut length designed with the sounds and calls of nature in mind, rather than specific interval, key, or scale. The longer the Yidaki, the lower its voice becomes. An amazing instrument with an absolutely stunning sound! Small model, approximately 43" in length. $198.00
